Ogden Hispanic Festival celebrates culture with fun, learning at Union Station — The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 5 in Ogden’s Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave. The family-oriented festival features entertainment, food, activities, booths and more. It’s hosted by the nonprofit organization Latinos United Promoting Education and Civic Engagement.

Mar 24, 2019. Utah Man Quits Successful Band To Teach Mariachi Music To Elementary Kids

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — It’s a dream shared by many: having a successful band, playing on stage in front of a huge crowd that knows enough of your lyrics to sing along.
That’s exactly what Allan Moreno accomplished. He and his band, “Londs,” were rising stars in the world of Hispanic music, known across two countries.
“We went to the red carpet, to the Grammys,” Moreno said.

Jan 26, 2019.Utah’s smallest mariachi band

The kids practice for two hours every day after school. Sometimes on Saturdays, too. And yeah, the kids can really play. Their repertoire is 30-plus songs and counting — a mix of traditional Latin music, contemporary American pop classics and newer hits. Most of them couldn’t play music a year ago.

September 19, 2018. Hispanics unite at the Union

The festival was not exclusively intended to educate the community, however. On the north end of the Union, flags from every Hispanic country led guests to a stage where a live band performed.

Mariachi Águilas de la Esperanza, a mariachi group run by students and faculty at Esperanza Elementary in West Valley, provided music for the crowds and a front man engaging the audience.

Jun 29, 2018 1:00 PM. REACHING THE HISPANIC/LATINO COMMUNITY OF UTAH

The second cancer conference for the Hispanic/Latino Community of Utah, Salud Para Mí, Es Salud Para Mi Familia 2018, took place Saturday, June 16, at Salt Lake Community College. Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) and Alliance Community Services continued their partnership to organize and host the event. An estimated 251 community members attended.

Attendees received referrals for follow-up care if necessary. Healthy meals, raffles prizes, and performances by Mariachi Águilas de la Esperanza made this event entertaining as well as informative.
